ABOUT US
As we started writing our "about us" post, Madison asked the deep question, "What is us?" Now I'm explaining to her that we are just good friends. We met freshmen year through mutual friends, but we didn't have chemistry until sophomore year. Literally. Hated that class. The only thing that made it bearable was our friendship and Madison's terrible puns. Our friendship continued on until Madison moved away, Junior year, and stopped texting me back. I think she's selfish and she thinks I'm clingy. Our friendship died but LIKE THE PHOENIX IT ROSE AGAIN. Madison surprised me on my birthday and moved back for senior year. We jumped right back into our friendship just like nothing had changed. Senior year we were GODS! Meaning we would avoid all other human contact and we knew we needed each other for survival. At our high school there was a college fair to help choose which school we wanted to sell our souls to in student debt, when we stumbled upon Dixie State University. This school talked nothing of academics or cost, but instead boasted of all the activities that one could do through out the school year. We were hooked. So, after two trips down to St.George,Utah, we put in the papers and applied for a college that had a 100% acceptance rate. We were stoked when we learned that we hardly made the cut, but we made it in alright. We were so excited to be roommates and make tons of friends. Basically all those things you see on cool college movies and websites. We got all moved in and I was an emotional wreck because I missed my family so much, Mads would say too much. She was all fine and dandy. As I started to cheer up again, we were excited for everything that was just beginning. Our classes began and we went to Wednes-D activities. Wednes-D activities were the different events they had going on, you guessed it, Wednesday. We loved being roommates and having our best friend right in the next room constantly. Before we would go to bed we would check our phones and instantly be tapping and communicating through our bedroom wall. It was every friendship's dream. Time continued on and we took classes, went to parties, studied for tests, watched lots and lots of movies and made a few new friends along the way. Two got married, another moved away, we made out with a few, stalked a couple others, and now we have like, 3 friends left. Mads and our 2 close roommates/BFFs, and I had the opportunity to go to Catalina Island for an Environmental Science Lab credit. We were super excited because we were able to stay in the Queen Mary, which is an old ship that was turned into a hotel, and we were able to spend a few days by the ocean. Catalina Island was such a blast. We went snorkeling, saw incredible fish, saw some bison, and we saw ONE REALLY HOT CAMP COUNSELOR. He was on White's Landing, if by some chance you see this, please comment and give me your phone number. ANYWAY, it was a super fun trip that we all loved. Time continued on and summer was quickly approaching. I would be returning to Logan, Utah while Mads was going to live in HAWAII with her mother. I came to the conclusion that eventually I was going to have to transfer to Utah State University to get the degree that I was interested in. I voiced this to my roommates but assured them it would be at least another year away. We all moved home and I made the decision to not return to Dixie State University. Now we are here, the night before Madison moves down to St. George for another school year and the week before I start my job as a special education aide.
